THIS ARTICLE IS INCOMPLETE - I HAVE ADDED THE SCREEN SHOTS THAT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS, BUT HAVEN'T YET ADDED ALL OF THE TEXT!

The members area of Wetting Her Panties contains a link to a web page where people can log in to the webcam chat room using a normal web browser. This works fine for most people, but there are some situations where the chat room can be inconvenient. For example, individuals with visual impairments who set their computer desktop to a low resolution, or those with very small monitors, may find that the layout of the web-based chat room is awkward. Also, although we have tested the chat room on up-to-date versions of various web browsers, there are some buggy versions of Firefox that display a very old trial version of the chat room, which makes the user get disconnected from the chat room every few minutes.

For anyone who would like a very much nicer chat room, I offer the following as a solution. You can install a free program called mIRC which is a purpose-made chat-room program, and which works with our chat room. So you get the same chat, the same room, the same show as you would using the web version - except that it will now be a lot nicer on your screen.

The instructions below might seem long and complicated if you look through it quickly. Actually, it is an easy process, most of the screens below are just what appear the one time when you first install mIRC, and mostly you just have to keep clicking Next.

[Edited by WT]It's worth pointing out that this will only work for 30 days as a trial and then you will have to pay USD 20 to register and continue using it. Other free chat clients are available with similar features.

Step 1 - Download mirc from http://www.mirc.co.uk

Step 2 - Follow mirc's installation wizard

Usually you can simply accept all of mirc's suggested settings and actions.

Step 3 - Set up your nickname and the Skymouse connection details, and connect for the first time

When the mIRC setup wizard finishes, you'll see the mIRC options window (see below). You need to fill in the Full Name and Email Address. But don't put real info here, as they are NOT private! Just put whatever fake stuff you want.

The Nickname is what other chatters (and the model) will see. In mIRC, a nickname can be up to 15 characters and cannot start with a number or contain a space. Other than that, you can use any combination of letters and numbers. You can also use these special characters in a nickname ^_-{}[]`

When you have typed a full name, email address and nickname, make sure "new server window" is unselected, and then click Servers in the Category panel.

Once you have clicked Server in the Category panel, a list of example chat servers is displayed (see below). We need to add the Skymouse chat server to the list, so on this screen click the Add button.

Now you need to enter a few things in the Add Server window (see below). Fill the details in exactly as shown here, and then click the Add button.

This will take you back to the mIRC Options window. Just click the Ok button here.

Finally, click the Connect icon:

If all goes well, after a few seconds, a large window should fill up with various status messages (some of it in green text), and you should see a similar screen to that shown at the start of step 4 below. If you get an error message instead, you'll need to go back and change something.

Starting the chat room and chatting

All of those previous steps were a one-off - and were mostly included to make things easier when you use mirc for real, when chatting.

If all went well, it's now very easy to start mirc from your desktop at any time and get chatting. All you have to do is:

Double-click the mirc icon on your desktop, click the "connect button", and start chatting.
