Am I the only one who is keeping this going?
Anyway, what is your favourite concert of all time, and why.
Mine?
Pink Floyd.
Wembley Arena (It was probably still called something else then) 1974
The main concert was great as they did all the stuff, including Dark Side Of The Moon, but they had a circular video screen above the band, which was rare in 1974, and when they played Money they shoewd loads of pictures of rich people being rich, including Ted Heath (the Prime minister at the time) eating a vast eclair with cream squirting out from the sides. brilliant. Can you imagine Blair being the subject of satire? I dont think so, we are too far down the fascist road for that.
Anyway, when they came back for the encore, they played the first chords for Echoes. Now, it was an amazing experience when all of the audience suddenly realised that the album track of this lasted 20 minutes.
You had to be there to witness the amazing sense of euphoria, that the encore was going to last at least that long.
