hehehe.....

Yeah, but you know... defeating the holders on their own turf in front of 43,000 of their own fans and all that :P

Kind of fitting also that Wilkinson sealed it with all that (very personal) stick he was getting from the Aussie tabloids 8)

true that...but sadly neither team played well to be honest. Only player who did really well was Wilkinson...and boy did he do well!!

From an Aussie born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire:

Don't be fooled. Not all Australians care about the stupid game of Thugby.
Thugby is only really popular in the backward States...NSW, Victoria and Queensland where the average IQ of the natives is eqivalent to their shoe size!!

Here in beautiful Adelaide, we couldn't care less who won the final and even less about the pathetic sport. Ditto for the West Australians and Tasmanians. We have our own sport here, Australian Rules football..and rugby doesnt rate a mention.

Hey, I'm from Queensland and I don't even like football!!!

Does that mean I don't have an IQ? :)

hehe.. just gagging Lloyd.

You Queenslanders are not a bad bunch of blokes. It's those damn stinking Victorians that really drag the country down!1

Wow, you really are out to find the sore toe amongst the Australian states aren't you MPG?!!!

Just don't say any of them are like any of the others. That would be considered unforgivable. Everyone knows that the reason the states all separated away from each other (sort of the reverse of how it happened in the US, in a way) is that they all wanted to be different...

Actually, as to federation, Australia did it almost exactly like the US, except that Queensland and Western Australia almost didn't join... I wonder how many people would be interested to see how that would have turned out!! :)

Cheers,
Lloyd.

Good point Lloyd.

Whilst it is true each State has it's idiosyncracies, we South Australians are very proud of the fact that we are the only Australian State without history of convict settlement.

Would have been interesting to see how we'd turned out as a nation had Q and WA not been part of it.

Have you noticed we all speak our own dialect as well? And we are all recognisable by our accents? Like us down here.. there's no CHARNCE we could be mistaken for any other group...... hehe.

I'll give you Queenslanders credit though, you seem more civilised than the rest of them. You can actually buy a pie and peas in Queensland. And you don't drive at half the speed limit.

Ah, but the reason Queensland is the fastest growing state in Australia is because of all the people from Sydney and Melbourne relocating here and mostly around where I live in Brisbane!! So I don't know how civilised we are going to be able to stay... Oh, well, if they come here slowly enough, we might have enough time to put them all through boot camp.

Maybe we should have an induction course - Queensland-101 :)

All this Pommies/Wallabies banter is amusing, but what I would like to know is: did any female English fans become so drunk after the match that they wet their knickers? Dryden (sorry, the equipment still refuses to let me log in and post under my real name).
