I took out a 3month membership in august and was therefore expecting a 1 month charge this month as the first re-curring bill!

However this month I was charged twice both times for 16.67 USD on the 9th and 10th of this month.
The usual 1 month charge in re-curring billing.
I don't know why there are two billings I don't believe there should be!!

I have now sent a mail to Globalcharge to cancel my membership in the hope this will not happen again.

However I was wondering if you knew what has happened??

Hi j,

With the three-month membership, the first rebill (after three months) should always be only $16.67 USD. If you were charged twice by GlobalCharge (and don't have other memberships with them that one of them could be), then it sounds as though GlobalCharge made a mistake and chrged twice. Without all the details in front of me, I can only make a general guess about the cause - but since their system is automated and this is the first occasion I've heard of this happening, one possibility is that first transaction (on the 9th) was rejected by your bank, so GlobalCharge re-tried the next day. Depending on the way your bank works, you might end up with two transactions showing, and a contra entry (refund) cancelling the first, failed transaction. However, I'm sure GlobalCharge will be able to find out what happened and correct any error.
