waterserver.com (http://www.waterserver.com) is back up. My internet was down, but the problem seems to have been fixed.

That's good.
I can't FTP at the moment though images/smiles/icon_sad.gif
Hopefully I'll be able to in the next week or so...

It was back. Not any more, though. Read this (http://66.24.161.151/waterserver/suspended.html).

Wonderful the way the ISPs can F*@$ us up. Still hope you win!

Why not just change your ISP??

I was with an ISP called World Online about a year ago, because they offered toll-free access. After about six months, they started screwing about with the rules - limiting users to 20 hours toll-free access, and tolling the rest; stuff like that. I told them where to stick it, and changed to NTLWorld. Since then I've had no problems.

I know the situation's a little different for you because you're hosting a server, but my point is that there are always other ISPs out there. If the one you're with is screwing you around, tell 'em where to shove it and find someone else.

Hope to see your excellent FTP site back soon.

I've looked into that. I live in a somewhat remote area in which only one high speed ISP is available. I don't really have a choice but to take what they give me.

Fiero,

would you be willing to talk mirror? If you tell me how much disk/space and bandwith you've used, i might be interested in mirroring your site.

If you're interested, ill give you my email.

sorry about being unregistered, this is a new computer, and i forgot my normal password...

I would be delighted to let you host the archives if you have the bandwidth needed and a server than can handle the traffic. Since 7/15, my total bandwidth used has been 315,158 MB. The archives currently take up about 3 GB of disk space, but that grows a lot especially when a DVD is uploaded.

again sorry for unreg...

fiero, i think i might be willing to host...

do you a basic idea of daily badwidth, if i did my math, we're talking 2.5 MB...

id probably still limit concurrent users, but I have DSL... i think its possible.. lets talk.

Disk space isnt the issue....

PS: email me mirtos@panix.com

I think mirroring the site is a very good idea. I'd do it myself if I could - but I can't images/smiles/icon_sad.gif
