To fix the sub-string problem with :~oops~: (pretend the ~ are not there), maybe change it to :~whoops~:.

As only the first 15 smilies show in the quick table on the right of a posting window, my suggestion is to relegate :~?~: :?: , :~!~: :!: and :~arrow~: :arrow: out of the first 15 in the master list and promote :~( :( , :~lol~: :lol: and the new :~whoops~: so that they are shown instead. They were always popular, much more so than the symbols! :)

Ok, I've changed oops to whoops. Unfortunately, until I find a way to do a text substitution throughout the posts, any existing cases of oops will still be wrongly displayed.

I've also tweaked the sort orders an increased the size of the default smilie box.

Thanks. I think editing previous posts is a nice-to-have. It's fixed going forward, which is most important. I'd look at the other outstanding issues like the funny posts at the end) before worrying about :~oops~: :)

What quick table on the right? Clicking Advanced before reply demands a reply click first. Clicking that removes the advanced option. Maybe that's the problem?

Scroll to the last message in the thread and click the Post Reply button on the left hand side under the last post and above the Quick Reply panel. That will open the window that I am talking about with the smilie icons (the first 20) and the link to [More] for the rest.

I've looked at the source code and it's straight HTML to display the icons, so any browser since about 1995 shoud show them. Inserting them by clicking uses JavaScript so may not work if that is disabled, but neither will a lot of other things. I am pretty certain that the only way you can not be seeing them is if you are looking somewhere other than where I am looking.
