Yes, I went ahead and ordered two custom videos. I gave very detailed descriptions, and I am glad to say that SKY did meet my requirements !!

Having been ripped off by other Internet 'Gougers" it is good to be able to report that SKY did a great job o the first video. Of course I checked carefully with SKY to enure they could meet my requests. And they did.

I am now waiting for my second video

My only advice is - check with SKY to make sure you and SKY understand what your requirements are !!

Hi watcher - I'm very glad that you like the first video, and hopefully we'll be able to make the second one even better.

James, because individual requirements vary in length, complexity, etc, the price can vary somewhat, but we calculate it based on the cost of production. The factors that influence this are mainly the number of models in the video, the number of different scenes, the number of different locations, and extra time needed to organise or travel to a scene.

We've only made two videos so far - Watcher's first video, and one other video for another customer - and we have Watcher's next video and a couple of other customer's videos in the planning stage (we're still communicating with them to finalise details). Even with this small number so far, complexity ranges from very simple scene lasting several minutes in one place to complicated sequence of scenes in special locations selected by the customer.

LOL! That last one sounds like my Poohsticks script! I gave Sky a list of models and scenes, and he and Freddy have contacted the models, planned and costed it. Now I have to see if my g/f will pay half for my birthday, or whether I have to curb my Hollywood directing aspirations slightly...

I am determined that something will come of it though, and it is specified so that Sky can use it for movies on the members site, so others will get to see it too. First, though, we could do with some better weather. At the moment, we would be in danger of being washed away by a raging torrent by the small stream...

OK - we did the shoot today! It was originally scheduled on Monday but it poured with rain all day. Sky's team and the models were very obliging and rescheduled for today - when we had glorious sunshine and the only water was in the stream and out of the models, not from the clouds!!!

It was absolutely brilliant , although, perhaps not surprisingly, the ad lib scenes shot at the picnic site probably worked better than the more scripted ones at Pooh Sticks Bridge. Also, the latter was in woodland, so the dappled light made shooting more difficult.

I had a fantastic time, thanks to my girlfriend for contributing half of the cost as my (imminent) birthday present , thanks to Sky and Freddy for arranging and to them and Francois for shooting, and especially thanks to Nicky O and Gemma who were brilliant (if desperate!).

Now I just await the resulting video, which I will turn into a DVD along with my photos (the latter as a slideshow)...

Meanwhile, I have this second idea for a shoot. I wonder if my g/f would consider that for a Christmas present?!!!
